Rofl, so he didn’t see it? I couldn’t tell if he was trying to be sarcastic or what… (I havn’t seen Batman yet so I wouldn’t know) on another note, the SAW franchise is creeping towards being a clut classic’s if not already. Fantasic work on their part…I don’t even think they knew it was going to be this huge.

  7. caleb Says:

    Crap. Edit post.

    towards becomming clut classic’s

  8. UNSCleric Says:

I think it become a cult classic when the first one came out in October 2004.

I remember back in early-mid 2004, I saw a small trailer for SAW, it had debuted at a small film festival and was praised, and I watched the trailer just by chance and loved it and was very excited for its Halloween release later that year. I figured that it wouldn’t even get a wide release though, and if it did, it wouldn’t do too good and it’d have a small marketing campaign.

Thankfully, Lions Gate Films, with the help of Greg Hoffman (RIP), had a vision to help prop up creative, small budget horror movies, and they pushed SAW hard. I remember SAW had commercials constantly during WWE programming (a big demographic for movies/games), and then when SAW actually came out, it did awesome. The SAW franchise has now made $550 million dollars worldwide, and I think when the series is finally over at the planned number seven, it’ll have hit a billion.
