May 9th: Three Years Later
Tomorrow marks the three year anniversary of UNSCleric.com (formerly known as xanga.com/xbox360 for the first few months). In celebration of this, I have finally made archive posts for this site, so that the right hand side’s archive actually lists all of the months that this site has actually been in operation. Epic, the developers of Gears of War, have also decided to celebrate my three year anniversary by releasing the first-ever gameplay footage of this fall’s Gears of War 2 on late Friday night. Epic announced this a couple weeks ago, but some of you may have missed it, here’s the story.

Gametrailers TV just secured themselves the first in-game footage from the game. The bad news? It won’t be airing until May 9 at 1 a.m. The good news? The footage, which features Marcus Fenix, includes a special introduction by bunny-loving Epic game designer Cliff Bleszinski.

haha no. I only made it to organize all the information for myself and a few friends on the upcoming Xbox 360 back in May 2005 when they were about the announce the name and show it for the first time. It was pretty much just a way to organize all the cool things I saw and put all my thoughts in one place so that I could tell a few people online everything I wanted to tell them without having to re-type it all to them.
Then a few months later when the Xbox 360 came out, and Sony started in with their old Dreamcast-killing routine, I wrote that History of Launch article one night, and that’s what really made the site take off, which wasn’t intentional either. A couple weeks later I was IP banned off TXB for pro-Xbox 360 remarks, and at the same time i purchased the domain for UNSCleric.com, and then a couple months after that in Feb 2006 I launched the site here. From there, the site got the gimmick of being more of a anti-Sony/industry corruption site than an Xbox 360 site. All 3-4 times I topped Digg.com was for articles about that kind of stuff and that’s what SDF has attacked my site for each time.
If I have time, I’d like to do an entry on Friday writing about my favorite times the last three years. Hopefully in 24 hours I can do that.
Also, jdub, you and a couple others should keep an eye out on the UNSCommunity…maybe I’ll add some names for the three year anniversary?
