It has been confirmed that it will make its way to the Xbox 360 in 2008.
There is no true date set for the release at this point, but November of 2008 has been mentioned. This is not set in stone as Konami is working with Microsoft to bring the date forward as much as possible. MGS4 for the 360 will also come with exclusive content and gameplay that will not be in the PS3 version of the game. Some of this content is VR missions, as well as “Snake Tales” or “Snake in the Valley” (depending on where you live), which will let you go on objective based missions, some of which are very lengthy. These are the first two bonuses to emerge so far, but be ready to expect even more.
Konami is also in talks with Nintendo to bring a Metal Gear Solid game to the Wii. MGS4 would obviously have to be slimmed down if the chose to port the title to Nintendo’s console. We already know that Snake will be a playable character in Super Smash Bros., so this (along with the 360 news) doesn’t come as much of a surprise.
It’s been a long day for a lot of people but we’re happy to announce that effective immediately, a title update for Crackdown is available on Xbox Live that will fix the issue that previously prevented you from downloading the beta. The Microsoft team just deployed this fix and when you launch Crackdown you should receive a prompt to download the update.
Please note that it could take up to four hours for your console to receive this update based on various factors. However, the good news is that we’re in the clear and Halo 3 gameplay is just over the horizon.
We realize this has been a pain for many and an inconvenience at the very least. Given the circumstances, we’ve decided to extend the duration of the Halo 3 Beta from June 6th to June 10th at 11:59 PM PDT. So, you lost almost a full day of play today but to make up for it we’re tacking on four more days (and a weekend at that).
We apologize for the delay and hardships this issue has caused and hope that it quickly becomes a distant memory clouded by good times playing Halo 3 with your friends. Thank you all for your patience and understanding. We’ll see you online! Note : A rare bug has been discovered that sometimes results in improper text display in the game UI. Basically, you won’t see any text at all. If you encounter this issue, you can fix it yourself by doing the following:
Restart your Xbox 360
Boot up the Halo 3 Beta
While the Halo 3 Beta is loading, immediately press up on the D-Pad and hold the A button until you see the Bungie logo. If you perform this correctly a dialog box will appear confirming maintenance has been done to your system.
Resume the Halo 3 Beta!
It’s good to see they extended the beta due to all this, I had a feeling they would. I also hope they throw in the Zanzibar-remake Last Resort for the final week of the beta.
Bungie has announced some slight changes to the beta as well, full update below:
Last night we made the first test update to the Halo 3 Public Beta, basically a test to ensure that we are able to make subtle or dramatic changes to the game on the fly, in order to react to problems we could encounter going forward. In this case, the change was both subtle and dramatic going as far as invalidating your existing saved films and wiping your file share in advance of tomorrow’s public rollout. You must accept and install the tiny update to continue playing correctly.
Don’t worry, we will try to keep these updates to a minimum throughout the course of the Beta, and naturally we don’t plan to wreck your films everytime a change is made to the game - but in order to implement and test that stuff for the shipping game, this is one of the wee sacrifices we have to make.
Also, due to player response we’ve also significantly reduced the appearance of Team Slayer gametypes on the Team Skirmish playlist - this means more High Ground CTF for Beta gamers. Thanks for both your patience and great feedback and stay tuned to Bungie.net for more updates throughout the Beta.
Most of you have probably already seen this, but I figured this is worthy of a post even if it might be old news to some. This video was released last night over on Bungie.net, you can download it the whole video here, or watch it below.
Sega has announced that a sequel to Monolith’s Condemned is coming early 2008 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. (There is no mention of a PC version in the press release.)
In Condemned 2: Bloodshot, you reprise your role as former investigator Ethan Thomas as he is called back to duty to find his missing partner. According to the press release, the game boasts an all-new fighting system that incorporates defensive and offensive combos, grapples and holds, as well as an “all-new set of high-tech forensic tools.”
Most interesting is the addition of online multiplayer, including a deathmatch mode, among others. Sega promises “the most brutal hand-to-hand combat experience the first person genre has ever seen.”
This is a long list of impressive updates to one of early 2007’s biggest games. Read on for the full list.
Achievements: The new content brings with it seven new achievements (taking the overall total to a nice round 50). Let’s get one thing straight, nobody’s paying for the 100 points that were missing from the original game – and in fact we’re repaying that debt with some serious interest! In total the download pack unlocks a whopping 350 gamerscore!
Let’s have a moment of silence for what should have beenthe week of E3.

Shadowrun now has a release date of May 29th for both Windows Vista and Xbox 360.
We’re 6 and a halfdays away from the release of the Halo 3 Beta. Bungie.net has a countdown on the front page of their site as well. It was a year ago today that Halo 3 was officially announced to exist.
Halo 2 celebrates a few things today as well. It’s Halo 2’s 2.5 year anniversary and it also hit 5 million players and 700 million games played today.
Update: All stats on Halo 2 will be reset TONIGHT, and the two new maps that came out a few weeks ago will be put into Matchmaking. These two maps will be free in early July as well.
The demo for Forza 2 will hit Xbox Live sometime tonight as well.
The 2007 Spring Update also came out around 12 hours ago as well, but before I experience the update for myself, I wanted to write up an entry concerning the future of this site.
Back on May 9th, 2005, I started the roots of UNSCleric.com over at xanga.com/xbox360.
As you may have noticed, the site has not been getting updated as frequently as it used to be, not even close. For one thing, I’ve stopped posting about most Xbox Live Arcade of Xbox Live Marketplace downloads, since everybody can see that kind of stuff over at MajorNelson.com. I’ll probably continue to not post about that kind of stuff on a regular basis, but I do want to keep the site going, even though I don’t have the time to have it the way it used to be. What I’m thinking, is that I’ll post one or two big entries a week, discussing the events of the week, with maybe one or two entries in between those entries incase something big is announced or is happening. I’m not sure what day or days these entries will occur on, but I’m going to try and keep it consistent and regular. It’ll be kind of like a text version of a blogcast, which most people use to discuss the previous week’s events and give their opinion on them.
Moving the site in this direction not only requires less time on the site, but also means the site will have more original content written by myself, instead of just links to other site’s articles. This will make the site better overall I think, especially in contrast to how it’s been the past couple months.
So who all is going to be playing the Halo 3 beta next week?
It’s coming in just a few hours. It’s been confirmed that at 2am Pacific, the Spring 2007 update will be released to the 6+ million Xbox Live users. This update brings hundreds of enhancements to the Xbox 360 experience, which includes now allowing the Xbox 360 to chat with both PCs and mobile phones via Messenger, as well as expanding Achievement notification and Marketplace navigation.
By tomorrow morning, all of you will be able to experience all the new updates, what a great way to celebrate the two-year anniversary of UNSCleric.com! There’ll be another update tomorrow to discuss that, and the future of this site, which has been sort of dead lately.
