Xbox Rewards Goes Live Today
It’s not up yet, but it will be shortly. Here are the details once again:
Microsoft has just announced a cross-marketing promotion with Old Spice deodorant to give some freebies to American Xbox Live users who add at least 1,500 Achievement points to their Gamerscore between Feb. 12 and April 12.
Players have to be at least 13 years old and register at Xbox.com/rewards after Feb. 12. Prizes are divided in to three tiers, depending on the participant’s “annual Gamerscore†(which we can only assume is the number of points you’ve gained in the last year):
- Level 1 (Gamers who have an annual gamerscore between 0-4,999 at time of entry): Game Picture, Dashboard theme, Contra for Xbox LIVE Arcade
- Level 2 (5,000-9,999 annual gamerscore): Level 1 Package, 100 Microsoft Points and a contest T-shirt
- Level 3 (10,000+ annual gamerscore): Level 1 Package, 200 Microsoft Points, contest T-shirt and Fusion Frenzy 2.
After registering, you will automatically be placed into one of three Rewards Levels based on your current gamerscore. Your level will determine the rewards you are eligible for during each Challenge. The more you play, the higher you can advance, and the bigger the pay-out.

More details on the contest were posted a few days ago over at Unscripted360.com:
I’m confused about how to figure out my annual Gamerscore. How do I know which level I’ll be in?
Your annual Gamerscore is calculated including your 2005, 2006 and 2007 Gamerscore. Your level is based off of this. That means in my case, I’ve gained 8,084 Gamerscore so I would be in Level 2 because my total under this computation falls between 5,000-9,999. For those with a current Gamerscore that equals more than 10,000 at the time of registration, you will be in Level 3. You do not have to gain the amount of Gamerscore listed between Jan 1, 2007 - Feb 12, 2007. It is a total of your 2005, 2006 and 2007 at the time of registration that determines your level.
Once a Level 1 or 2 challenge is completed by Level 1 or 2 gamers, they will be awarded an increase in Level. (Level 1 would become Level 2 and Level 2 would become Level 3)
Which games are being included in these challenges?
All games and Achievements count towards this Old Spice Experience Challenge. Xbox and Old Spice want this program to be one where as many gamers as possible are included. No games are excluded. Future challenges, however, could be different.
Who gets prizes first? How are prizes decided?
Everyone who registers and completes the 1500 points in the specified time will be eligible for the digital prizes which are things like gamerpics and dashboard themes. Only about the first 70,000 to complete the challenge will be able to win the Arcade games, retail games, Microsoft points, T-shirts and such. So it really is a race in terms of those particular prizes. It doesn’t matter when you register if you’re among the first to finish.
All others outside of those who qualify for the big prizes will at least be eligible to receive the gamerpics, themes and other digital prizes. Just make sure you complete the challenge!
Good luck!

Use Internet Explorer (if you’re not already) and it might work better. Always use IE when it comes to Microsoft and their contest websites, there always seems to be a problem when using Firefox or any other browser.
