Kojima Comments on Xbox 360

From Eurogamer.com & Kotaku.com-

Hideo Kojima, the man behind Metal Gear Solid, has admitted that he has a “strong interest” in working on Xbox 360. Interestingly, he also says he’d like to work on the PC.

“f I say too much, Mr. Kutaragi might get really upset. I think that the PS3 is difficult to work with, but so was the PS2…I do have strong interest in creating something for the Xbox 360. In the US and Europe, it is selling, and I think it will sell a lot this year as well. I’m a fan of Gears of War as well, it’s very interesting,” he told GamePro.

Reports have linked Kojima with an Xbox 360 project in the past, but Konami has never said anything concrete - with representatives reluctant to definitively rule anything out because, well, they’re damned if they do and damned if they don’t. Let’s face it, you can’t predict what the man will do.

“Frankly speaking, I want to create something on the PC,” he continued.” It’s a multi-platform [format]. I’ve been regularly studying work on the PC anyways, and I want to provide something as a worldwide platform because of the consequences with timing on the PlayStation platforms, MGS4 is actually for the PS3 only so far.”

This interview is just another baby step by Kojima moving away from Sony exclusivity.  He sees the success of Xbox 360/XNA/Vista, and now continues to compliment the systems.  MGS4 will come to the Xbox 360, and I would be very surprised if the game even makes it to the PS3 any time within 2007.  When making trailers is more important than finishing the actual game, delays like that will happen.

Note to self, if I see someone on XBL in GOW with something of a “Solid Snake” gamertag, milk him for info. Seriously that is freaking awesome about his love for Gears, and i am like you Cleric. I see MSG4 coming soon, i just wonder who will get the headline first. Also I think it says something to your hardware when one of your legendary game developers talks about how hard it is to work not only on the old one but the new one as well. Just my thoughts.

Indeed DQ. I’m waiting for the day when “MGS4 is coming for xbox 360″ is announced.

MGS4 could be coming for both PS3 and 360 but what if MS pulls off what they did with Splinter Cell and has the next game EXCLUSIVE to 360? That would be pretty friggin rad…

    DavidGX,
I am awaiting that day and I know it is coming at some point in the near future. I dont care if it is like GTA San Andreas, with the 6 month delay. Metal Gear Solid is coming to the Xbox 360, it is only a matter of time. I admit I have no proof exactly but look at the other staples from the house of S and notice how many are now leaving. I know Sony is having problems with not PS3 but other components and hardware, but when it comes to the PS3 specifically i think sony is in worse trouble than they let on. Again I point to Virtua Fighter 5, Amored Core 4, neither of which I have seen on a different system than a Playstation. Then you got the new guys, Assassian’s Creed, Okami, Godhand and those are the few that I remember off hand. I mean holy crap, what does that say about your company as a whole when stuff like this repeatedly keeps happening. And I am not even mentioning the hardware issues of the PS3, I think Sony has said and done enough. Well…maybe not.
