For anyone who hasn’t seen The Departed, the trailer doesn’t show how awesome it is at all. I didn’t even know what it was about from the trailer, but maybe that was the point. I’m very glad I went and saw it, and it was good to see it stay in the top 5 of the box office for so long too.

I’m in (YourExWife). As to favorite movie of ‘06, I have a tie between Borat, Little Miss Sunshine, The Departed, Crank, Clerks II, Accepted, and Grandma’s Boy. Yeah, big tie. This year was a great year for movies IMO. I could list more to tell you the truth.

Too bad the departed was a remake… the original is better because they’re the real gangsters, not some typical boston irish hot shot (not saying Nicholson isn’t a badass but…. check it out if you’re interested, it’s called Infernal Affairs. It’s MUCH better. It’s a Chinese gangster movie made in 2002 I think.

Alright, no more entries or e-mails will be accepted. All the names have been written down and put into a bowl. Whoever is chosen will have 48 hours from Midnight tonight (when the winner is announced) to message me on Live letting me know you saw that you won. Then I’ll just need your address and the remote is your’s!
These instructions will be posted in the entry tonight as well. If the person ends up not contacting me, another person will be chosen on Wednesday morning, and given another 48 hour window.
The reason I do it this way is so that only repeated, loyal readers of the site are involved in the contest. I don’t advertise my contests at all, so that only people who happened to come to the site and see the announcement even know about it. This also gives me no reason to “rig” the contest either, since I’m not doing this for attention or site visits.
So if someone from the “Contributors” list wins, there’s no reason to suspect that I rigged it for them to win, because I have nothing to gain from doing that. If I wanted to just give one of them the prize, I would have done that behind the scenes.
Anyways, thanks to all those who entered, and good luck! I will be having someone other than myself actually draw the winner later tonight. It’ll be announced at Midnight Central, and will be part of an entry announcing several things.
