Halo Movie Still Coming, More PS3 Launch Problems, and More!
After Friday’s announcement that Fox and Universal had pulled out of the agreement to fund the Halo movie, Microsoft has announced that they will find new funding partners, and if that doesn’t work, they’ll do it themselves. A $150-200 million dollar movie is nothing compared to the possibilities a Halo movie may bring. Not only is there the possibility to make a profit on that investment, but the expansion of the Halo story into a new medium and audience can only make the fan base of Halo franchise and the Xbox brand grow.
More details on that here at the LATimes.com
Over the weekend, Sony cut its already revised launch numbers even more. Just under two months ago Sony cut its launch numbers by 75%, and now it’s going even lower. In true Sony fashion, they still boast they will sell 6 million PS3’s by the end of March. Please, just once Sony, tell the truth.
In related news, this is what Sony’s co-chairman had to say about the PS3 launch date of November 17th:
“The honest answer is it’s more of a target. Clearly we’ve had production issues.”
Wow, they actually told the truth for once, thank you. Sony barely has the money to even produce the PS3, so this too comes as no surprise.
I also have three special announcements to make today:
We’re four comments away from 1,000 comments on just this version of the site (up since Feb. 06), and that is with 382 news entries. That number is thanks to the involvement of the community and everybody who contributes to this site.
UNSCleric.com has also hit 100,000 readers! The huge response to the story posted on Friday about Sony’s slander against Microsoft and Microsoft apparently preparing legal action of some kind brought the most readers I’ve ever had in such a short time, and also pushed the site over the 100,000 number. There’s also an incredibly huge thread over on Xbox.com talking about the entry, you can see that here. The story is finally fallen off the front page of Digg.com’s gaming page, but is still on the second page with over 600 diggs. Thanks again to everyone who has contributed to the thread or to the comments here. Tens of thousands of people are reading what you have to say.
In an off-topic announcement, I’d like to wish my Mom, who visits the site every now and then, a very happy birthday!
I’ll be back later today with more news!

Man, you know Cleric, I love how I find all the juiciest of stories ;0
In response to the guy above me, it’s not anti-Sony. If they were honest and kept their promises, or at the very least, kept silent instead of stating bullshit, there wouldn’t be an issue. We’re not anti-Sony, we’re pro-truth!
Can’t wait to see what the other news will be
