“Sony: 360 GTA won’t hurt us”
My friend LG e-mailed this to me earlier today:
Gamespot put up an article in which Jack Tretton states that GTAIV being exclusive to XBox 360 won’t hurt the PS3 at all. What I found funny was how almost every comment following the article was someone saying he’s lying, or he’s wrong, or how it’s denial.
He also says some stuff about how Sony was pleased with its E3 ‘06 showing, and if you ask the “trade” they’ll say they were happy with it as well. Of course, “trade” doesn’t include the people who were playing on PS3’s that kept shutting down and having other problems.
Here’s the article by the way: http://www.gamespot.com/news/6153028.html.

I wonder two things…
1. What does Rockstar think about this?
2. What would Sony do if they didn’t get it at all?
Sony is getting to big for their britches…

Right now it sounds like Sony is saying everything that people expect them to say. Instead of being honest about their feelings about GTA and 360’s one year advantage, they just tow the corporate line and say “it doesn’t matter”. OF COURSE it matters. Maybe being honest about this stuff could win some gamers over to their side. It sounds like Sony has become the huge soul-less corporate entity while MS has somehow become a ‘grass-roots company’ somewhat in touch with gamers around the world…

[...] That was Sony of America’s Jack Tretton, who also said Sony was “really pleased†with it’s showing at E3 2006. As always, Jack is touting the company line, just like last year, when he claimed the Killzone footage shown at E3 2005 was real gameplay. To read the entire entry on this story, click here. [...]
